Can we avoid AIDS? The answer is yes but for that you will have to follow certain guidelines. However, before going to discuss the given topic it would be better to learn about the HIV. HIV does not spread easily. There are certain ways through which a person can get infected with HIV. HIV can be transmitted through the bodily fluids like semen, vaginal fluids during sexual activities. The ways include unprotected sex with an infected partner, contaminated blood, breastfeeding etc. other bodily fluids like sweat, tears can not spread HIV. Moreover, HIV can not be transmitted through mosquito biting, using utensils, sneezing and coughing. Kissing may be the cause of spreading the HIV infection if you have any cuts or sours in your mouth. So it is advisable to avoid the kissing. HIV infection is possible only when a person comes in the contact with the bodily fluids while having sex. For example if you are having sex with an infected partner and the penis or the other part comes into the contact with the vaginal fluids you can get the infection of HIV. That is why the sex without condom will be dangerous as it can lead you to develop AIDS. Vertical transmission is possible if the mother is infected with HIV then it will spread to her child through the bodily fluids while delivering the child or during the pregnancy period.

Can we avoid AIDS? Yes we can but for that it is essential to follow the given tips :

Safe sex or Abstinence from sex

The risk of transition of HIV can be avoided if you practice the safe sex. Safe sex means to use condom while having sex. It includes some activities -safe activities that can be followed i.e. masturbation, erotic massage, and kissing, mutual masturbation. It would provide you the safety. Monogamous relationship is also the best option that can be used if you are enough confident and knowing that your sex partner has not been infected with HIV or only having a sex relation ship with you. You can use condoms but keep in mind they do not provide hundred percent safety if not used properly. However, you should not avoid the use of condom while having sex as they provide the protection from HIV as well as sexually transmitted diseases. You can avoid the unwanted pregnancy by using condoms.

Use of drug

Drug addiction can put you at high risk behavior as it affects your decision making power. By having drugs you might spread the infection unknowingly or if you are indulging in sexual activity it may possible that you would not follow the safe sex. It may lead you to the HIV infection. If you use the dirty needles or reused needles that are used by the infected person, then you can be infected with the HIV infection. Some communities have started the exchange programs of needles where they distribute the new and clean needles for the safety of people.

Vertical transmission

AZT should be taken during the pregnancy as well as it should be given to the new born baby. C section will be useful for avoiding the risk of HIV infection to the baby. It keeps away the baby from the bodily fluids of a mother. Breastfeeding can be one of the reasons for transmitting the HIV to the child. So if any other options are available instead of breastfeeding they should be used.

Can we avoid AIDS? The answer is yes, but if certain tips or guidelines are followed by a person. We can take certain precautions for avoiding HIV infection. These given ways help you to understand that how HIV infection can be avoided.
