Vaccination Vaccination can be the best way to prevent the infection of the virus. It is an effective method that keeps you away from the infection of Hepatitis B. It is given in three dose series. For children, the first dose of the vaccine can be given shortly after birth.

Avoid high risk situations

This contains the things like avoiding unprotected sex, as well as the things that may have someone else's blood on them like razor, and toothbrush etc. Sexual prevention can be helpful for not being infected with hepatitis B. While having sexual intercourse latex condoms can be useful as they decrease the contact with bodily fluids like semen, vaginal secretions and blood. You can also use non-lubricated latex condom for mouth-to-penis contact. It reduces the chances of getting infected during mouth-to-vulva or oral-anal contact.

Non-sexual prevention

Try to keep away from the direct contact with infected blood or other fluids present in body. As well as avoid the contact with objects like razors, needles and toothbrush etc. Cover all your sores, cuts, and rashes with bandages. Moreover clean surfaces which are contaminated with infected blood.

Treatment for hepatitis C

Antiviral medications

The infection of hepatitis C can be treated with the use of antiviral medications. It clears the virus from the body. The combination of medications may be recommended by a doctor. This process may take several weeks and once you go through the whole process your doctor will test your blood for HCV. If the HCV still exists in your body after having a treatment, the doctor may proceed with the second round treatment.

There is no hepatitis cure available, but prevention can be the best option to be followed .
