America is the country where half a million people have died because of the HIV and AIDS since the beginning of the disease. However today AIDS continue to affect thousands of gay and bisexual men and people who are injecting drug users.

Wealth status also decides the probability of HIV infection in America. A survey done by CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) in 2010 stated that in Americas poorest neighborhood HIV prevalence was 2.1 percent among heterosexuals.

Hispanics/Latinos are also excessively affected by the AIDS in America. It is anticipated that one in every fifty two Hispanics/Latinos will be diagnosed with HIV in their lifespan. The death rate of AIDS has been stabilized in some extent. However still there are some elements like cultural factors, lack of regular health care and migration patterns have been identified as obstacles in HIV treatment.
