HIV Rash Look Like

HIV rash is a viral infection. It is one of the early symptoms of primary or acute infection. It normally occurs at the time of seroconversion, almost two to three weeks after the infection with HIV. However, it could visible much later. It is slightly raised, small and dark in color. It is described as maculopapular rash in medical terms. HIV allows various opportunistic infections to attack on the body. Kaposi's sarcoma is a one of the skin infections that is related to the HIV/AIDS. Most of the people develop the rash about two to three weeks after the infection. It is the symptom of HIV infection. Not everyone develops this rash; nevertheless, it develops at the same period from the infection. In some cases, it appears later on or does not appear at all.

The rash is formed with small, dark bumps, slightly raised. It is normally found on the trunk, either the face and neck area or front (chest) or back area. Those who have pale skin, the rash is a deep red to reddish brown. People who have darker skin, develops the rashes of purple to black color. It is quietly widespread and most of the people visit doctors for seeking the treatment of the rash that can lead to a diagnosis of HIV / AIDS.

Moreover, with this rash, a wide variety of symptoms have been seen, involving fever, headaches, muscle aches, thrush (white splotches in the mouth), and diarrhea. Nevertheless, many people stay away from the symptoms other than the rash. Therefore, it is a very individual reaction. The rash vanishes itself normally within a week or two. HIV/AIDS is a serious disease that should be treated by a qualified health care professional for eliminating the symptoms that are related to the rash.

HIV rash on the skin

HIV rash can happen because of the medications that are used for limiting the HIV. It is studied that 90% of HIV infected people develop various types of skin infections during the time of the infection period.

Keep in mind that skin rashes do not always occur due to HIV infection. However, it is essential to be aware of them, particularly if you are in a high risk group. If you are infected with HIV then HIV test will help you to know whether you are contracted with the virus or not.

HIV rash is a symptom that can be found at the beginning of the HIV infection. It generally appears on the neck and chest area.
