HIV Statistics in the World

According to the HIV statistics in the world, it is evaluated that 33.4 million people were living with HIV/AIDS worldwide at the end of the year 2008. In 2008 2.7 million people were infected with HIV/AIDS. According to the UNAIDS' evaluation HIV/AIDS has taken the lives of more than 2 million people in 2008.

Infecting drug use has a smaller role in the HIV epidemic in UK if we compare it to the other high income countries. There were 149 people diagnosed with HIV during 2009 which most likely acquired the disease through injecting drug use.
