Treatments for STD

STD (sexually transmitted disease, also known as sexually transmitted infection) is an infection that is spread through sexual contact. It can also be transmitted from mother to child, by sharing personal things like towels or clothing as well as from contact with blood. STDs occurs because of bacterial infection such as Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. As well as some STDs spread through viral infection such as herpes, hepatitis and HIV. Chlamydia

It can be treated with antibiotics. There are some recommended treatments, and many alternate treatments. It depends on various factors that which treatment will suit you. If you are finding trouble with having a pill per day at same time for seven days, you may ask for single dose treatment. Moreover the two recommended treatments are measured to be equally effective. Sometime two treatments could be essential for an individual. These two are more expensive i.e. Oflaxacin/Levofloxacin and the third one may be less impressive i.e. Erythromycin.

Does Chlamydia cure?

It is simple to cure and you can have either a single dose or a course that lasting up to two weeks.

  • Zithromax® (azithromycin): 1.0 gm (4 x 250 mg) a single dose, or
  • Doxycycline: 100 mg 2-3 times a day for 10-14 days, or
  • Zithromax® Z-pak® : 500mg on day 1, followed by 1 tab (250mg) once a day for 4 more days

Your sexual partner should be treated if you want to avoid re-infection of the disease.

Crabs (Pubic Lice)

Crabs are also found around the genitals, they have the ability to live with hair in any part of the body. It can be transmitted through sex, clothing, bedding, and skin-to-skin-contact.

Itching in genital area or it can be in any part of the body with hair.

Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease because of the bacterial infection. The treatment is available for the disease and the early treatment for the disease is effective as well as simple. It involves a single dose of antibiotics. Chlamydia treatment is also advocated. The treatment is common for both of these two STD infections together-fifty percent have both.

Treatment for crabs

You can get rid of the crabs by using the lotions that contains the chemical permethrin like RID and Nix. Before going to use these lotions consult with your doctor. You have to wash the skin with the lotion. After that use comb that is fine-toothed for comb out the crabs and their eggs. However, it is essential that your sexual partner should be treated as well so you can avoid the re-infection of the disease. Moreover, all clothing and bedding should be washed with hot water. In some of the cases the beddings and clothing need to be washed more than two times till it gets lice-free.

Cure/Treatment of Gonorrhea

  • Levaquin®: 500 mg a single dose, or
  • Cipro® XR: 500 mg a single dose, or
  • Tequin®: 400 mg a single dose;
